There are seven base races, which I'll briefly describe in this topic (e.g. I'm not going to type up the whole chapter on races in the Player's Handbook). Many other races are fine to use, but I'll get to that later.

Humans:
Humans are the most flexible and adaptable race. Humans usually make up the majority of the population of any given world. Their physical appearance can vary greatly, in terms of minor qualities. They usually stand between 5 and 6 1/2 feet tall and weigh between 125 and 250 pounds, with men significantly taller and heavier than women. However, humans only live to a maximum of about 90 years.

Important stuff (Racial Traits):
-Medium Size. Humans get no bonuses or penalties due to size.
-Base land speed 30 ft.
-One extra feat at first level
-Four extra skill points at first level and one at every level thereafter.
-Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus languages: Any (other than Druidic and other secret languages)
-Favored Class: Any (Highest level class)

Humans get +2 to one score of their choice, from Pathfinder.
